Earn an Aging Services of Minnesota Housing-with-Services Certificate
Housing-with-services in Minnesota is in its second decade, but it continues to evolve. As this sector of older adult services expands, Aging Services of Minnesota is responding to the need for specialized training in four distinct areas through programs that enhance development of housing-with-services and provide advanced professional development for specialists who work in the field. Aging Services of Minnesota's Housing-with-Services Certificate Programs are offered for professionals in housing management, marketing and sales, dementia care and nurse management.
Minnesota Health & Housing Alliance (now Aging Services of Minnesota) launched this series of certificate programs in 2003, expanded its offering in 2004 and continues to expand it to meet changing needs. Participants completing these focused programs earn more than a "certificate of attendance," they receive advanced tools and training to augment their skills and experience. These are the leaders who will establish Minnesota's housing-with-services sector as a nationwide standard of excellence in consumer focus and choice for decades to come.
The programs are part of Aging Services of Minnesota's comprehensive Quality In Action Initiative, which is designed to preserve the inherent benefits for consumers that are the hallmarks of Minnesota's model for housing-with-services and assisted living. Aging Services members have resoundingly embraced this initiative by engaging in professional training, by adopting the Aging Services of Minnesota's Housing-with-Services Code of Ethics and by advocating for choice and flexibility in Minnesota's senior housing field.

Marketing & Sales Certificate Program
(A - 2-1/2 day course)
This professional certificate program is destined to become the standard in training for senior housing marketing and sales. Seasoned sales and marketing professionals have highly praised the comprehensive curriculum. It provides participants with the advanced knowledge and skills they need to develop effective marketing strategies to match the organization's overall mission with the services consumers want and need. This program focuses on tools and techniques to help you build and maintain occupancy and to become known for providing housing and services older people want and need.
Nurse Managers in Home Care Settings Certificate Program
(6-day course - over a three month period)
As the array of living options widens, consumers' expectations for more complex services are growing. This certificate program focuses on the essential skills for today's practice of home care nursing. Clinical skills, human resources issues, case management and in-depth looks at the policies and procedures that are key to successful home care delivery are provided by expert faculty over six days of intensive training. Participants receive a comprehensive manual.
Senior Housing Management Certificate Program
(A 6-day course - over a three month period)
