Aging Services of Minnesota Certificate Programs

For nearly ten years, Aging Services of Minnesota has offered a variety of Certificate Programs for our members' continued professional development.

Certificate programs are multi-day educational courses held over the course of several months. Participants get comprehensive, in-depth training in the area of professional expertise, and benefit from small classes for maximum hands-on learning.

Certificate programs are designed to be attended in their entirety to earn a Certificate of Completion, or participants can attend individual sessions based on their interest level or area of need.

Taught by expert faculty in the field, Aging Services Certificate Programs are considered advanced training for older adult services professionals.

Aging Services of Minnesota Certificate Programs include:

  • Dementia Care Certificate Program
    (co-sponsored by Alzheimer's Association Minnesota-North Dakota)
    (11 modules: 8 webinars and 3 full day workshops - over the course of several months)
    As the number of older adults with dementia needing care increases, so does the need for well-trained caregivers who understand the unique aspects of their disease and have the skills and knowledge to respond to their needs. This comprehensive educational program series is designed to improve the quality of the care given to persons with dementia. It can be attended in its entirety to earn a certificate of completion, or individually for topics of specific interest or need. The course is designed for a variety of audiences within the continuum of care including care centers, assisted living, home care, and adult day services.

  • Nurse Mangers in Home Care Settings: Essential Skills for Today's Practice Certificate Program
    (co-sponsored by Minnesota HomeCare Association)
    (6-day course - over a three month period)
    As the array of living options widens, consumers' expectations for more complex services are growing. This certificate program focuses on the essential skills for today's practice of home care nursing. Clinical skills, human resources issues, case management and in-depth looks at the policies and procedures that are key to successful home care delivery are provided by expert faculty over six days of intensive training. Participants receive a comprehensive manual.
  • Housing-With-Services Management Certificate Program
    (A 6-day course - over a three month period)
    Consumers today have more housing-with-services and assisted living options to choose from than ever before. Senior housing professionals must be prepared to manage their organizations in such a way as that matches not only the expectations of today's educated consumer but that supports the way they want to live in an environment of their choosing. You can rely on the Housing-With-Services Management Certificate Program to provide you with advanced knowledge, cutting-edge skills, and the practical tools senior housing professionals must possess to ensure consumer satisfaction.

  • Marketing & Sales for Senior Housing Communities Certificate Program
    (A 2-1/2 day course)
