MDH: Updated Information on New Survey Guidance

The Minnesota Department of Health will have its statewide conference call on the changes in survey guidance on advance directives, end of life care, and feeding tubes on January 16 from 1:00 to 2:30. The conference call will consist of a panel including an ombudsman, a provider attorney, a medical director, a facility quality expert, and a survey director.

On November 19, the Department of Human Services (DHS) sent out MHCP Provider Update WAV-12-01, with information about a new process for providers enrolled to provide waiver services or Alternative Care (AC) services. DHS says this Provider Record Review process is designed to prepare for implementation of the new HCBS Waiver Provider Standards.

Home Care: Proposed Fees for New Home Care Licenses Are Under Development

At a meeting yesterday afternoon, the Minnesota Department of Health met with provider representatives to begin discussions of license fees for the new home care licenses that will be proposed in 2013 legislation – the Basic license and the Comprehensive license. Mary Youle represented Aging Services of Minnesota at the meeting.
